NSW: People reminded again to watch out for email scams
SYDNEY, Aug 4 AAP - Consumers are being reminded to watch out for the growing number
of email scams, including one pretending to be a security check from the Commonwealth
Bank.
NSW Fair Trading Minister Dianne Beamer has issued another warning about the scams,
which also include a fake overseas online lottery, UK Lotteryonline International Lottery.
"It is such obvious 'phishing' fraud but unfortunately many people find the desire
or need for riches so strong they will give their details just in case the scheme is real,"
Ms Beamer said.
People are being urged to never reply to unsolicited emails with personal banking details
and to delete emails if they don't recognise the name of the sender or the subject.
