Vic: Nixon apologises for dinner

Former police chief .. CHRISTINE NIXON has written a letter apologising to Victorians
for eating out at a restaurant while Victoria burned on Black Saturday.

In a letter published in the Herald Sun newspaper Ms NIXON says she understands that
some of her decisions on that day have upset some people .. in particular leaving the
control centre in the evening .. and so she's apologised.

She adds that in hindsight she would change what she did on the day .. but does not
believe what she personally did .. or didn't do.. would have changed the tragic outcome.

Victorian Premier JOHN BRUMBY says Ms Nixon should have stayed at the incident control centre.
