Kelley's cinching store to its original size: ; Clothing retailer cites vendor programs,; more custom orders for reduced need for space

Kelley's Men's Shop is going to downsize to its original buildingat 108 Washington St. W., said spokeswoman Kristi Waldeck.

"We used to stock a lot of suits and sports coats," Waldeck said."Now, with so many vendors having in-stock programs and with so manycustomers coming in and picking out swatches and placing customorders, we don't need to carry as much."

Kelley's has carried sportswear in the building at 708 BigleyAve. since 1988. Many Charleston residents know the structure as theformer Junior Achievement Building.

"That's the building we're going to close," Waldeck said.
