NSW: Man charged over attempted murder in Gunnedah
SYDNEY, April 16 AAP - A 20-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murderof a woman in a home in Gunnedah in north-west NSW.
Police were called to the Lincoln St home at about 2.50pm (AEST) yesterday where theydiscovered a 42-year-old woman on the floor with a belt around her throat.
Officers freed the victim and she was taken to Gunnedah District Hospital with spinaland neck injuries. She was reported to be in a satisfactory condition.
A man was charged with attempted murder, malicious damage, three counts of resistingpolice and two counts of assaulting police.
He has been admitted to a mental health unit for psychiatric assessment.
No date has been set for his court appearance.
